So, Laura and I decided to do the Wreck This Journal adventure together after recently talking about how we'd both like to do more creative and cathartic journaling. The book isn't your typical journal and involves actively pushing you to do things to a journal that you wouldn't instinctively do, like dump coffee on it or scribble on it or even light certain pages on fire. One of the first (if you go through the book in order) tasks is the crack the spine:

Yikes... I've never done that intentionally to a book, but there you go.

Looking forward to wrecking the rest of the journal! Almost everyone I've shown the book to has gone out and purchased one... the wreckage is contagious. There's a group on Flickr too, so I'll be adding all my pictures to that group in addition to the album I started as well.

I had some fun with the goofy frames at Pearle Vision the other day when shopping for glasses… click on Brandice Potter for all the horrible shots. ;)

I fell in love with a jacket type item that I found today by Watters, and spent hours looking for a dress that would fit underneath it and not look silly. The jacket sort of helps the self-consciousness from the whopping twelve upper arm scars, and it's the only arm covering I've found that I've felt has really fit me. And the dress is beautiful, but I'm not sure they go well together.

Suggestions that fit with this general idea are welcome. What do you think?

Before being ill, we had a great weekend with friends, saw my brother briefly and I saw Jen and had amazing geeky conversation with her at Barnes and Noble. Unfortunately, left the good camera at home, so no vids or high quality pics, but the iPhone took a few good shots. :)

I successfully implemented Google Mail with my domain, which, for a non-l33t like myself, was incredibly complicated and I didn't ask anyone for help AT ALL. I did it myself and tweaked my domain setup and now I can check monkey at brandice dot net through Gmail!!

Also, I put in a shift at internship AND I got a QSR done for work, all while still incredibly tired from staying until 5:00 a.m. yesterday morning.

I just scored my third feature video on Viddler.com with the unveiling of my Harry Potter book yesterday.  w00t.

So, I capped out tonight at 270 viewers on http://live.brandice.net. I beat Chris Pirillo for viewers by 200% at one point, holy shmokes, batman! Insanity + awesome = lifecasting. :)

I have to say the lifecasting thing has been a ton of fun... I've received impromptu tech support, advice on good wines, education on using IRC and Trillian, I've been spreading the word about Viddler.com, and a couple people I haven't chatted with in a while have popped by to say hi and it's cool to be able to read their greetings and just respond on cam in real time.

Totally surreal tonight. Cool.

In other news, I have to work tomorrow, so it's bedtime for me. :) Happy frickin' Friday, all!

Friday was the Karen/Sygh wedding, to which I wore my new favorite top ever (GREEN, silky, awesome) and got so completely ridiculously intoxicated that I may never be able to live it down. Here's a timeline:

And there's a morning after the wedding pic, but it will be saved for those of you bored enough to watch the vlog-ness for yesterday. Suffice it to say it's a doozy of a picture.

So, yesterday I went to the Script Frenzy meeting and then had steak at Applebee's and still felt like ass when I got home, but I think it was worth it.

Kudos to gothamgal and hklbry for heading me over to SparkPeople, which is my new healthy lifestyle community place for keeping track of food, exercise and whatever other goals I set for myself. The only complaint I have is that it's hard to find people to network, so I have yet to locate hklbry, but hopefully will at some point. It's a great site, much better than Traineo (IMO), and has a lot of great food tracking features that are incredibly helpful for me.

Okay, now it's off to WoW my day away. (copperbeech, some rep grinding maybe?)

Script Frenzy Kickoff 2007 was much fun, with talon2claw, enchantedonyx, and marzipan9. Marz isn't participating though (just stopped by for support), and hklbry's friend Paul also stopped by just for moral support and to work on his completed novel. I wrote a measly 500 words or so, but managed to formulate a *little* bit of a plan for this damn thing. Also named some characters and decided what kind of fern my narrator is (Squillard, the Boston fern, is a potted plant and a fantastically spunky one), and am nearly finished with my first scene. Have about 500 more words to write by the end of today, which is pathetically easy compared to Nanowrimo (20,000 words for 30 days of Script Frenzy, 50,000 words for 30 days of Nanowrimo... pssht!).

And now, I've come home and I'm typing on the balcony while Pepe, who has ventured out here for the very first time, is eyeing the night time bugs and sniffing my fuschia and my herbs, which I've managed NOT to kill yet. Very chipper about that. :)

1. The other night, I mentioned something about ice cream and didn't even ASK him to go out late at night looking for no sugar added ice cream but he took off and was gone FOREVER, and then he came back after I'd fallen asleep. I woke up the next morning and there were flowers in the vase that Megan made me for my birthday to "make up for not finding the icecream."



2. This morning, I'm feeling a bit down about being laid off (and today is a hard day for me anyway) and I'm sitting at my computer and Jim has to leave to go help his mom with something. He comes over and says, "hey, I almost forgot to give you this" and hands me a card:

I am incredibly lucky to have such a great fiance and such a smartass cat. :)

Jim got a new Harley, a special edition Sportster and he traded in his Yamaha VStar, so we took pictures of the VStar before he gave it away:

I'm so excited about the Bookopoly! Where's my Nano peeps to come play nerdy Monopoly with me??? :) :) :)
